Yearling Prep

Preparation for the Yearling Sales starts at PT Thoroughbreds from the moment the foals hit the ground whether it be:

 - the immediate imprinting of the foal with our family,

 - manipulation to address any birthing trauma based physical issues,

 - early corrective trimming if necessary to promote correctness

 - high protein supplementary feeding of the mares

 - typically introduction to floating with their mums being re-covered

 - hard feeding from 2-3 months

 - basic leading & floating education 

At about 6 months, all foals travel off-site for more advanced education under thge supervision of Len Crumblin in readiness for the inspections by Inglis and Magic Millions in about August

Finally, upon acceptance into the preferred yearling sales, they're off to the prep farms late in the year ahead of the sales.
